- Det har kliat i fingrarna med att göra något annat än att syssla med politik. Jag och gamle vännen Jan Åman har nu startat ett investmentbolag, JA Sjöman i Umeå AB, som ska investera till en början i studentbostäder på en lämplig plats där vi får tag i mark, säger Anders Sjölund.

Planen är att bygga mellan 50 till 100 studentbostäder.

- Det hänger på när vi får tag i lämplig mark att bygga på. Vi har tänkt oss bygga små bostäder som inte får kosta  mer än 4000 kronor i hyra per månad. Till en början ska vi finansiera byggandet av bostäderna och eventuellt förvalta dem. Det får vi se framöver  hur det blir, säger Anders Sjölund.

Duon har också bildat ett bolag inom städbranschen.

- Det handlar om ett biföretag till Ja Sjöman AB som ska ägna sig åt hushållsnära tjänster och företagsservice. Det heter så fyndigt som Bra städ i Umeå som med www före på internet heter Brastad Umeå, säger Anders Sjölund.

När det kan bli aktuellt att bygga studentbostäder är oklart. Bolaget ska kunna köpa fastigheter för att bygga om till billigare mindre boenden.

Vi har jobbat med studentverksamhet i nästan hela våra liv och det ligger oss varmt om hjärtat att försöka ordna boenden som inte är så vansinnigt dyra. Allt hänger på om vi kan få markanvisningar och redan nu har vi lämnat in interesseanmälan att få tillgång till kommunal mark intill Nydalasjön vid södra Tomtebo. det finns också andra platser vi tittar på, säger Anders Sjölund.

At the moment VI are building 4 houses with 229 apartments in Öbacka

We are planning to build two houses with 46 apartments near campus with start in the beginning of 2014. After that we are planning to build about 150-200 apartments/year

We build small apartments that suits students, but we doesn’t build houses designed only for students

- How are the spaces designed? Do you employ architects in your firm, or do you choose different architecture offices?

 It is various designs, but we mostly build small apartments with one or two rooms

 We have only engineers the architects comes from different architecture offices

I would really appreciate if you could find some time and talk with me about the issue,
