I went to the field today, and guess what I discovered!
On Storgatan 7, there is a house that is being transformed into new student rooms, right now!
As I was idling around, a construction worker came out of the building, and when I asked him what are they working on, he took me inside and showed me around a generous-looking space for students.
The renovation started after an agreement between Instrumentteknik AB and the Student Union. The
company Instrumentteknik AB had empty premises of former office spaces,
so they contacted the Student union, which administrates Emergency
housing.
The
spaces is being renovated and equipped with additional showers, toilets
and an expanded kitchen, and will then serve as a dorm with separate
rooms with access to common areas.
The construction worker said that the plan is to finish the refurbrishing in a month and a half, so the lucky moved-in students should have a new roof over their head in the end of november.
